International partnerships for cutting-edge research

For a number of years, Institut Mérieux and its companies have been developing international partnerships with public and private academic researchers and hospital community representatives. This strategy has led to a number of scientific collaboration agreements and the establishment of joint research units.


Joint research units

Joint units were created with hospitals in France and China:

  • 2 bioMérieux/Hospices Civils de Lyon joint research units: sepsis and the risk of infection in cancer and immunosuppressed patients.
  • Institut Mérieux/Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center joint research unit: tumor and immunity markers.

*Immunocan: Europe-China cooperation project to develop biomarkers in oncology jointly funded by the European Union.

*IMODI: Innovative Models Initiative (personalized medicine in oncology) jointly funded by French Banque Publique d’Investissement through the “Investissements d’Avenir” Program.
